Open letter form our team leaders
Dear Friends and Supporters
It is just a couple of days until we leave for the adventure that is Nile2010. Almost three years of hard work is already coming to fruition. Our friends in Uganda have made tremendous progress with the building; it is already up to the windows. That doesn't mean we have nothing left to do; far from it. The building has to be roofed and then all the kitting out, laying floors, power and lighting. It is going to be a busy few weeks.
We are going to have a lot of fun too. We are going to meet some amazing people; we will make lifelong friends, I am of no doubt. We will see sights, do activities and enjoy experiences that will also last a lifetime. We are doing all of this because we have had the support of thousands of people who want us to succeed.
Follow our progress on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=58608085994&ref=search
We still need to raise more funds, and will continue to provide some (albeit limited) support in the future. We have now raised an amazing £107,000. If people still want to contribute to our success, they can pledge funds through our Just Giving site http://www.justgiving.com/nile2010 (where we benefit from Gift Aid on top of their contributions) of they can continue to send contributions to our '38th Bournemouth Nile 2010 A/C' via our Group Treasurer, Andy Keeble at 3 Oak Road, Charminster, Bournemouth BH8 8TB or to any of our leaders.
Once again, thank you to everyone who has worked so hard on our behalf and who have supported us so generously. We look forward to seeing you all on our return and telling you about our amazing adventures.
Yours
Mike Harley Expedition Leader, Nile2010

Fund raising breaks the £100,0000 barrier
Today has been quite special day for Nile 2010. This morning lots of us met at Boscombe
Pier for our 'Dash for Cash' -
However, something else very exciting almost overshadowed the event, but in a very good way. When we first set out on this journey towards Nile2010, we set ourselves and ambitious target of £100,000. Although we have since had to raise our target so that we can achieve even more than we originally intended, we have been waiting to pass this original land mark. This morning I was given a piece of paper which nudged up our total so far. WE HAVE REACHED £100,000.
It has been very hard work and the team is due some praise for this achievement, but most of all, we want to thank all of your supporters. YOU! Without you, we could not have achieved this.
We have already achieved so much; the brick machine is now in Uganda and training will start very soon. The land has been cleared and the latrine pits dug. The training will create the blocks that will build the walls of the latrine, before the actual building work begins. We leave on the 26th of July to turn our dreams into reality.
